Mafia II is a third-person action-adventure video game, the sequel to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven.
It is developed by 2K Czech, previously known as Illusion Softworks, and is published by 2K Games. Originally announced in August 2007 at the Leipzig Games Convention, it was released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in August 2010.
The Mac OS X edition of the game was published by Feral Interactive in December 2011. A version of the game for mobile platforms was developed by Twistbox Entertainment and released in 2010 byConnect2Media.

Graphics
As I said before, Mafia 2 is a beautiful game. If you love the 1940′s-1950′s like me then you will be in awe in the amount of detail 2K Czech manages to squeeze out of the engine when creating Empire Bay. Sure there are some issue’s when it come’s to the frame rate and shadow detailing on the characters but this isn’t enough to detract you from just how impressive the game looks on a whole. The city looks and feels lively with almost every area something different from the last. Even though the cutscenes are created by the in game engine, they don’t suffer in the slightest, bringing beautifully crafted characters to life with bouncing personalities that games like Far Cry fail to engineer.
